Museo de Antropologia is located four blocks beyond the zocalo towards the southeast you will find La Paz's fine Museo de Antropologîa. You'll find a well researched a history on La Paz and Baja Sur. There is also a gift shop adjacent to the building.
 
Beaches in La Paz
Beaches in La Paz
Although La Paz is located on the bay, most of it's nicest beaches are located north of town on the road towards the ferry terminal at Pichilingue and beyond. Playa El Coromuel, Playa El Caimancito, Playa El Tesoro and Playa Pichilingue are all fine beaches to spend the day. Beyond the ferry teminal you'll find the beautiful beaches of Balandra and Tecolote. You can reach all of these beaches by car, taxi or for the budget-minded local bus.
La Paz Islands
Islands of La Paz
Bahia de La Paz is protected by a large island called Isla Espíitu Santo, the smaller Isla Partida and a tiny group of rock ourcroppings called Los Islotes. These islands are the reason many people come to La Paz. Great diving and snorkeling as well as kayaking are attractions here. Many sailors anchor in the coves and camping is possible, Permission to visit the islands is required as they are protected. Local tour companies can arrange trips for most activities on and around the islands.

Malecon
The malecon (seaside walkway) is located on Paseo Obregon and commands great views of the bay, especially the famous sunsets here. Local residents and tourists alike come here in the early evenings. You'll find benches to relax and take in the atmosphere, businesses selling food and drink plus a tourist pier to stroll. This is a La Paz tradtion

La Paz Zocalo & Cathedral
Zocalo & Cathedral
The Plaza Constitución (known locally as Jardin Velazco) is located downtown only four blocks from the bay. This main square or zocalo is a great place to sit and relax as the world passes by. The local cathedral, built in the 1860's is on one end of the zocalo.
